A trip to h&h Americas
Near the beginning of the month I had the chance to fly out to Chicago to attend 1 day of the h&h Americas show. This was my first time to attend the convention and overwhelmed doesn’t even describe how I felt. There were so many vendors, from small and local like Roadtrip Sock Yarns, (whose trunk show should be arriving any day now for a 2 week stay!), to mid size vendors like Malabrigo, to the giants like Lion Brand. We are excited to announce that we will be starting to bring in new brands this month. We get a TON of requests for for new yarns and accessories and sometimes its hard to pick and choose which brands to take a chance on. We also heard from people looking for budget friendly options as well as the pricier hand dyes. Brands coming this year will include ADDI needles, including flexiflips, unicorn, and rocket squared, Junction Fiber Mill whose magnificent dyes are on display in the above photo, and Trendsetter yarns, whose yarns I loved in another life and am glad to see them return. Our wish list includes Hemptique, Feederbrook Farm, Mochi Mochi, Baaah, and many others.
Another common request is classes. We have offered classes in the past but they are rarely attended. No one wants to pay for parking in Squirrel Hill which means the only available day for classes is Sundays when parking is free. I haven’t been able to come up with a solution to this problem so if anyone out there has an idea or suggestion we’d love to hear from you.
